Nashik: The nationalized and district cooperative banks have disbursed 47% crop loans to farmers so far in five divisions of Nashik division for the current kharif season.
According to cooperative department officials, the banks have set a target of disbursing Rs 10,119 crore crop loans in five districts of the division. Crop loans amounting to Rs 4,801 crore have been disbursed to farmers which amounts to 47% of the total target.
Around 5.91 lakh farmers with 4.58 lakh hectares under cultivation have availed crop loans in the division.
For Nashik district, the target for disbursement of Rs 2,947 crore crop loans have been set. Banks have disbursed Rs 1,221.43 crore to the farmers which amounts to 41% of the total crop loan disbursement target. The banks have set disbursement target of Rs 4,141 crore for Ahmednagar. Of this, crop loans of Rs 2,330 crore have been disbursed.
