Mumbai-based SNG & Partners and southern-based firm R&P Partners have created a pan-India presence after establishing a joint venture to widen their client base and strengthen their foothold outside their respective territories.
SNG & Partners is a second-generation firm established in 1962, while R&P Partners was founded in 1981 by eminent lawyers, the late S Rangarajan and the late SG Prabhakaran.
The alliance of both full-time law firms will comprise 120 lawyers, including partners, creates a combined presence across nine major cities namely, New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Coimbatore, Cochin, Madurai, and Singapore.
The core areas of practice through this collaboration includes banking & financial services, mergers & acquisitions, private equity investments, capital markets, dispute resolution (including arbitration), real estate, insolvency & bankruptcy laws, intellectual property rights, private client practice and general corporate-commercial advisory including legal audit, due diligence and contract management.
Rajesh Narain Gupta is the managing partner at SNG & Partners, while R Visveswaran, is the managing partner for R&P Partners.
