Gurgaon: Bankers should assess loan applications related to state and central schemes on priority, additional deputy commissioner Vishram Kumar Meena said on Thursday, while chairing a review meeting of the District Level Consultative Committee (DLCC).
DLCCs are forums for bankers and government departments to facilitate coordination in implementing various developmental activities. At the meeting, the Gurgaon ADC reviewed the status of applications and the loan-deposit ratio of banks under various schemes such as the National Urban Livelihood Mission, Haryana Scheduled Caste Finance and Development Corporation, and the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme.
The administration told bankers that the loan amounts should be made easily available to the beneficiaries, especially in rural areas.
Expressing dissatisfaction over the alleged delay in loan applications received under the Chief Minister Antyodaya Parivar Utthan Melas, the ADC said , “this was affecting this entire scheme”. Out of 284 applications received in two fairs, loans of 139 families have been approved and 122 families have been extended, he said.
Meena also directed the banks to consider the applications of street vendors under the PM Svanidhi Yojana and speedily go through the applications.
In the meeting, lead district manager Ashok Kumar Julaha said that a total of 807 branches are providing their services in the district. “Moreover, with an increase of 37% in the agriculture sector, loans of 2,453 crore and with an increase of 55% in the MSME sector, and overall loans amounting to 17,691 crore have been made available,” he noted.
