Cristiano Ronaldo has refuted rumours he could join former club Sporting on loan.
The Manchester United star replied to a post on Instagram from Sport TV Portugal suggesting he had been at his old club for talks.
Ronaldo branded the rumours ‘fake’. Other outlets including Caught Offside had claimed Ronaldo was in talks with Sporting.

Ronaldo has kept a dignified silence on his future over the past fortnight and let others do the talking for him.
He has been linked with moves to Chelsea, Bayern Munich and even an unnamed Saudi Arabian club, The Mail report, but none of these deals look likely.
BBC Sport report Ronaldo wants to leave United this summer – but credible options appear to be running out.
A return to Sporting is a move which could happen at an even later stage of Ronaldo’s career, but he doesn’t want to get his former side’s hopes up.
Ronaldo could also simply be getting tired of all the speculation over his future. United’s official stance over Ronaldo’s absence from pre-season tour said: “He has been granted additional time off to deal with a family issue.”
