Liverpool have already been busy in the loan market this summer, and if reports are to be believed, Tyler Morton could lead the latest pack to head out.
After a breakthrough campaign last time out, Morton is back and settled as part of the regular first-team squad for pre-season training at the AXA Training Centre.
The 19-year-old appears to have grown in stature over the summer break, following a season in which he made nine appearances in all competitions, including six starts.
With Liverpool not expected to make another midfield signing in the transfer window, it could be argued that further opportunities would present themselves for Morton at Liverpool.
But according to GOAL‘s Neil Jones, the teenager from Wallasey is among eight more youngsters who are “in line for temporary moves before the window closes.”
However, along with Morton, 20-year-old forward Jack Bearne is one of two new names linked with a loan for 2022/23.
It is unclear whether any particular deals are in the works, or whether those touted with loans are genuinely set for the exit, with Jones having previously suggested James Norris, Layton Stewart and Max Woltman could also head out.
But it stands to reason that Morton would attract interest from a number of clubs, perhaps even in the Championship.
Bearne, meanwhile, would benefit from honing his game in the lower reaches of the Football League, or perhaps Scotland where the likes of Luis Longstaff, Adam Lewis and Morgan Boyes have spent time in recent years.
Any loan for Morton would almost certainly come with a new contract, with his last extension coming at the start of 2021, months before his first-team debut.
