HILL TAX BRIEFING: Yellen Heads to the Hill This Week

Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen can expect to face tough questions from Republicans during two hearings this week that will be held amid record-high gas prices and inflation.

The Senate Finance Committee will host Yellen for a Tuesday hearing on the administration’s proposed fiscal 2023 budget, and Wednesday she will testify before the House Ways and Means Committee.

Expect topics such as inflation, the international global minimum tax deal Treasury signed off on with the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development, and Democrats’ continued push for a major tax and spending bill to be topics of conversation at the hearings.
