These past three years, although largely affected by the Covid-19 global pandemic. Local travel content creators and influencers have done a beautiful job of showing off Namibia.
I do not think we have ever consumed as much travel content as we did between 2019 and 2022.
Creators were on the road every other weekend: creating content; serving looks, and ultimately making domestic travel trendy.
In an article, titled ‘Travel industry and content creators, a time to collaborate’, I wrote about the importance of collaboration to get Namibian tourism back up in 2020.
In this article, I will be focusing on why Namibian travel creators and Influencers are worth taking a chance on.
Naturally, as any millennial would, I took to my Twitter and Instagram accounts, and asked my followers a summary of questions that would help with my research.
Below were my question:
1. In the past three years, is there a specific Namibian lodge or accommodation that you paid a visit to because of a Namibian travel influencer?
2. Are there any Namibian lodges or accommodations you simply did not know about until an influencer mentioned or travelled to them?
3. Do Namibia travel influencers share domestic travel information that is valuable to you?
For most people, answers to all three questions were yes.
Many have travelled to lodges because a creator documented their stay.
Many value the opinion of creators so much that they are intentional about looking up those reviews.
These communities creators have built trust with are were local domestic clients lie.
For collaborations, do not hesitate to contact me.
