Recalling his special prize from the famous triumph, Shastri took to social media and posted pictures with the car which is currently at the Super Car Club Garage in Thane. “This is as nostalgic as it can get! This is a national asset. This is #TeamIndia’s @AudiIN – @SinghaniaGautam,” wrote Shastri on Twitter alongside a few images of the car.

Talking about India’s memorable win in the tournament, Shastri had starred for Gavaskar’s men with both bat and ball. He made 182 runs in five matches at an average of 45.50 while taking eight wickets with the ball.
Later, he took up the head coach job of the Indian cricket team and remained at the helm of Indian cricket for more than four years. His tenure started after the 2017 Champions Trophy while the 2021 Men’s T20 World Cup was his last assignment in the top job.
